The new bilingual class 7a went on a class trip to get to know each other in the hottest week of August. Find out what it was like in the following reports.

On Monday we arrived at the youth hostel Klein Köris. We moved into the rooms and had lunch. After that we went to the lake. It was very hot and sunny. We collected coloured stones and gave them funny names to sell them.

On Tuesday, we played a lot of games. In the afternoon, we started to build a raft. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to jump from the raft into the water.

On Wednesday, we went to an open air museum. We looked at a few replica houses of an old Teuton village. On the other tour about agriculture we fed ostriches. After that my group was late for lunch and VERY hungry. After lunch, we went to the lake and splashed and dunked each other.

On Thursday, we played a lot of games again. In the afternoon, we hiked to take a ride on pedal boats. On the way, Leti got a stomach ache and she had to lie down. After the pedal boat tour we were all very hungry, so we went to the supermarket to get some snacks and sweets for us and for the beach party later.

On Friday we cleaned up our rooms and went to the train station by bus. We were sad that the class trip was over but we were happy to see our families.

On Monday, we met at Südkreuz station 9 o’clock and then we went to Ostkreuz. There our train was cancelled so we had to wait for one hour to go to Königs Wusterhausen. From there we went to Klein Köris by bus. When we arrived at the hostel, we made the beds. After that we had lunch and went to the lake. At the lake we had a lot of fun, we dunked each other, dived to the bottom of the lake and raced each other. At the end of the day we learned a song named “Amazing Grace”. We had a lot of fun and we had an audience. We sang the song at an outdoor table next to the BBQ place. After that we played beach volleyball, table tennis and chess. I really enjoyed the day and I started to look forward to the next days.

Tuesday was an ok day. It was cloudy and a little bit wet on the ground. We played games to get to know each other. One of the games was like that: we put mats in a circle on the ground and arranged ourselves alphabetically without speaking. After lunch we split up into three groups. We built three rafts and went on the lake with them. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to jump into the water. After that we took a bath in the lake and raced in the water. After dinner, we learned the song “Amazing Grace” and played beach volleyball. Then we went to bed, where many moskitos were waiting for us.

On Wednesday, we woke up at 7:30, then we had breakfast. After that we went to have tours through the Germanic village and the wetlands near Klein Köris. The nature tour was a little bit boring because the guide was not so funny and it was not interesting to me. But then we had a very exciting tour. We saw old Germanic houses. I most liked the smithy and the old clay oven. Then we went back to the youth hostel and ate yummy potatoes with sour cream. After lunch, Ms Santelmann divided us up into groups and we practiced for a play about “Siegfried”, a Germanic hero. Then we took a break and swam in the cold lake. After dinner, all groups presented their pieces. It was funny because all groups had very funny ideas. At 10pm we went to bed and slept very well.

It was a beautiful Thursday morning and we all got up at 7:30 am. After we got dressed we had breakfast. Then we packed our bags with water and our swimsuits because we were hiking to the next village that is called Schwerin. On the way Leti was not well so we took a break. Later our class and the teachers went to the beach. There we went on a tour with pedal boats and swam in the cool lake. After the nice beach trip we walked to Aldi to buy some snacks for the evening. Then we went back to the youth hostel and had something to eat. Later we went to our beach and enjoyed the last evening of our class trip. We danced, sang, swam and ate our snacks together. I really liked this trip and this evening.
